USB Charging and Powerpath Management
Not only can the VC2s charge batteries with the utmost accuracy and reliability it can also charge stand along with USB devices too even when the device itself is also being charged by USB. The VS2s does this by advanced Powerpath Management. This not only improves efficiency but also minimizes wear on the charger itself and batteries potentially used. The XTAR VC2s can be charged by any 5V USB socket, the standard and most common currently available, as well a Micro USB connection too.
Portable Power Bank
Another trick up the sleeve of the VC2s charger is the ability to act as a remote powerbank completely disconnected from the mains power supply. It does this by drawing power from ready powered batteries and can move this current our through its USB ports to any device. *Power is drawn from the battery in the left slot as preference.
The advanced display gives a host of valuable information regarding your batteries and charging requirements, some advanced and some basic to suit all requirements. The LED indicator when green represents a full charge, whereas red represents charging or battery analysis in progress. Various on-screen messages such as ERR alerts you to issues and in this example a reminder that the batteries are inserted incorrectly and upside down. CAP Charging Capacity, CCR (Real-time charging current), IR (Internal resistance) Voltage and battery chemistry is also shown too allowing you to see the overall health of your batteries at any time.
A technology invented by XTAR 0V activation allows recharge of batteries that have gone completely flat. This is pioneering technology now replicated throughout the industry. Not only is this a breakthrough for the consumer who is now able to recharge batteries that would have been typically disposed of it is also an environmental issue too as it allows many batteries to be reused and a great increase in their lifespan.
Internal Resistance Testing/Battery Type Auto Identification
The XTAR VC2s will automatically check the resistance of your batteries on insertion allowing you to gauge battery quality and authenticity. *Please note when batteries are fully charged or the power input is below 700mA. Identification is automatic and takes 4 minutes when the screen will flash with ‘NI-MH’.
